Some users on this Wiki are so deranged, so crazy and mad, that they're Cell Keepers. These users keep all the inmates in their cells and make sure they don't do anything misbehaving. Remember. In Arkham Asylum, no one can hear you scream.
Your local, friendly Cell Keeper will be happy to help you out or assist you with any problems you may have. Administrators, the Cell Keepers, have access to a number of different tools on this Wiki, and so will be able to assist you with deleting pages, protecting pages, banning or blocking inmates and other such jobs. If you wish to contact an Administrator, just leave them a message on their talk page and they'll response as soon as possible. Any ol' inmate can still do the average jobs on the site, however, and Administrators aren't that much different from a normal user.
Administrator abilities[]
These additional functions include:
- Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
- Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without Cell Keeper rights or autoconfirmed status.
- Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing, locking away those rebellious and rule breaking inmates for good.
- Very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
- Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.
Who are this wiki's administrators?[]
How do I use administrator powers?[]
See the administrators' how-to guide for a guide on using admin functions.
Becoming an administrator[]
For you to become an administrator, someone with bureaucrat access must make you one. On Arkhampedia, a user may be nominated for Adminstrator rights via the "Requests for adminship" page.
What can administrators not do?[]
Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that isn't vandalism. Administrator powers should be used to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally an admin shouldn't be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.
